We are in our 50’s and active people, decided to go to Croatia for one week in the beginning of September. We’ve booked return flights to Dubrovnik. We are thinking of spending a few nights in Dubrovnik and a few nights at Mljet.

    We like hiking and cycling.

In Mljet is it better to stay in the national park near Govedjari or Pomena or perhaps in Sobra or Saplunara?
Is September to cold for swimming?
Is Mljet better for a day trip only or should we spend several days there?
Any suggestions for other island not to far from Dubrovnik?
    Thx
